Wohlfert Craft Distilling has officially turned up the heat. At the prestigious American Distilling Institute (ADI) International Spirits Competition, TAILPIPE Jalapeño Flavored Vodka earned Double Gold and Best of Category – Flavored Vodka.
The ADI competition attracts over 1,000 global entries and is widely regarded as one of the most competitive blind‑judged craft spirits events in the world. For owner and distiller John Wohlfert, this marks the second time in four years that the distillery has earned Best of Category honors across multiple categories.

- 94 Points: “Well-defined jalapeño nose. Green, fresh, and invigorating. Chili here is delicate and well-managed. The underlying vodka is mellow and carries the flavor well; alcohol is integrated.”
- 95 Points: “Pronounced jalapeño and green peppers. Ample flavor intensity, creamy, and well-structured. Controlled jalapeño spice. Well balanced.”
The Story Behind the “Spider” Cocktail
Inspired by Prohibition-era creativity and family heritage, Wohlfert revived a 100-year-old recipe known as “The Spider” — described as:
“Dark with a helluva bite.”
Originally created to make harsh spirits more drinkable, this legacy cocktail has been reimagined using Wohlfert’s award-winning lineup. CLUTCH Coffee Liqueur delivers rich depth, while TAILPIPE Jalapeño Vodka adds a bold, spicy edge.
